Local Government as the third tier of government has been faced with a lot of challenges ranging from over bloated staff strength and the dwindling federal allocation. These among many other factors have affected the performances of the local governments in country.
Mokwa Local Government is no different from others, but the administration of Honourable Idris Yahaya Ndasode did not relent in its efforts to bring development to the good people of Mokwa Local Government against all odds.
In the heath care sector, Hon Ndasode’s administration is constructing health centres in Afuwagi and Guzan villages apart from renovating some of the existing ones.
The Ndasode administration believes that Education is a very vital tool for economic development of the people and therefore took the bold steps to address the lapses in educational sector by reconstructing some primary schools and providing additional classrooms at Takowangwa Primary School in Mokwa Town, Lyafu Primary School and Muwo Central Primary School among others.
Water Supply is one area that the Ndasode Administration is paying serious attention. The administration has provided many boreholes across the LGA. In fact, giving the population density of some areas such as Kudu, Ezhi, Mokwa Railway Station, motorized boreholes were provided to alleviate the suffering of the people.
In a recent encounter with the press, Hon. Ndasode summed it up that “We can still do better if the revenue from the federal allocation improves. As you can see, from our own ends we are working hard to improve our revenue base through IGR. Our cardinal goal is to put smiles on the faces of our people and to leave an enduring legacy.”
