HON. RAHMATU MOHAMMED YAR'ADUA SERVES AS JUDGE AT THE NUPE CULTURAL FESTIVAL

In recognition of her zeal and passion in the promotion of the Nupe culture, the Niger Commissioner of Transport, Hon. Rahmatu Mohammed Yar'adua, was appointed as a judge at the 2020 Nupe Cultural Festival.

The panel of judges was saddled with the responsibility of adjudging the dancers of the Nupe Dance Competition at the event.

The chairman of the occasion, Ambassador Solomon Yisa, urged the people not to forget the traditions of the Nupe. He made a donation of books and traditional drumming instruments.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, Sa’adatu Bokani, applauded the organizers for their commitment and foresight and pledged Government support to activities that promote the cultural heritage of the State.
In an interview, the Commissioner explained the importance of the festival in sustaining the Nupe culture especially in the lives of the youth; and in promoting the tenets of the Nupe culture in our society.
She thereafter congratulated the winner, Gogo Fatima Gogata. She urged her to always be proud of her heritage; and Zimtopia and partners for their tireless efforts in showcasing the Nupe culture.

In attendance were Senator Ahmed Zurum, representing Emir of Patigi, the wambai of Nupe representing the Etsu Nupe, the representative of the Emir of Agaie, and the representative of the Emir of Lapai.









Recall that the Annual Nupe Cultural Festival is an event that brings together 'Kin Nupe' in a bid to promote the culture.
