MOKWA COUNCIL MAYOR OBSERVES EID EL ADHA, CALLS FOR PEACE AND PREPAREDNESS
Hon. (Amb) Jibril Abdullahi Muregi, the Executive Chairman of Mokwa Local Government, marked the occasion of Eid el Adha by observing the two Raka'at prayers in his ancestral home of Muregi. The Chairman, in his message to the community, emphasized the crucial importance of peaceful coexistence among the people. He also urged them to take proactive measures to prepare for the anticipated 2023 flood as signaled by NEMA (National Emergency Management), NiMet (Nigerian Meteorological Agency), and NSEMA (Niger State Emergency Management Agency).
Furthermore, Hon. Muregi expressed his steadfast for the ongoing push and lobbying efforts for the resettlement of Muregi and its affected neighboring communities. He highlighted the need to address the challenges faced by these communities and ensure their well-being. The Chairman also encouraged his people to actively participate in the upcoming Population Census, which will be conducted by the National Population Census.
During the event, Hon. Muregi expressed his deep appreciation for the overwhelming reception and display of love shown by the people. He conveyed his gratitude for their kind gestures and assured them of his unwavering commitment to serving their interests.
Alh. Muhammadu Hadi, Ndatsadu Kuta, and Alh. (Dr) Abdullahi Aliyu Alpha, the Muregi Village Head, individually expressed their appreciation for the Chairman's presence during the Eid prayers. They commended his remarkable dedication and expressed their pride in his laudable efforts thus far. Additionally, they offered prayers for a successful tenure marked by significant achievements.
Highlighting the occasion, the Muregi Chief Imam, Sheikh Muhammad Saba Muregi, led processions and performed the sacrificial ritual of a ram, symbolizing the spirit of sacrifice and devotion associated with Eid el Adha.
