A former speaker of Niger state house of assembly barrister adamu usman has declared his intention to contest for lavun-edati-mokwa federal constituency seat come 2019 under the platform of all progressives Congress. Addressing an unprecedented crowd of party supporters in mokwa on Sunday, barrister adamu usman said he decided to join the race in order to bring government closer to the people. The former speaker said if given the mandate ,he would ensure transparent and qualitative representation as he would bring his expertise as a former attorney general and commissioner of justice as well as member of the state house of assembly to bear in the discharge of his duties. He listed youth and women empowerment, provision of sound education, development of rural communities and constant communication with his constituents as his priority programmes. The former speaker also promised to operate an all inclusive administration. Barrister usman then called on the people of the three local governments to support his ambition to move the area forward. He used the forum to assure the people of mokwa that the problem of power outage being faced by the community would soon be over as he is already talking with relevant authorities on how to profer immediate solution to the issue. Earlier the APC chairman in mokwa local government Mr Nathaniel sallawu kpaki extolled the virtues of barrister adamu usman adding that the area needs a transparent politician like him to achieve the needed socio economic and political development.
