APC PRIMARIES;AGAIE IN WADADA'S KITTY

APC primaries: Agaie in Wadada's kitty

It was a campaign trail. But it became the celebration of a sterling, outstanding term and an endorsement for another term, against the backdrop of the unprecedented impacts he has made in the senatorial district he is representing in the National Assembly.

This is the apt summation of Senator Mustapha Sani Mohammed's outing in Agaie Local Government Area on Tuesday.

As he had done in Mokwa on Saturday, Edati on Sunday and Lapai on Monday, he was in Agaie to take stock of his representation, meet and interact with the people and members of his party, APC, for his re-election; in view of his giant leaps, which need to be kept afloat.

His first point of call was the Agaie town itself. Arriving from his hometown, Bida, he was welcomed by a giant and rapturous crowd about a half kilometre to the town. The shout of "Wadada two times", Wadada kayi aiki rented the air. The size of the crowd and the welcomers' celebratory stunts and acrobatics brought the lawmaker's convoy to a halt. He had to come out of the to greet the crowd and gyrate to the rhythm of the moment.

In a snail pace, for the road was lined by the senator's supporters who wanted to catch his glimpse, the convoy proceeded to the palace of Etsu Agaie. It has been the lawmaker's tradition to first pay an homage to the leaders of anywhere he visits, before embarking on what brought him.

Etsu Agaie was represented by the Garkuwa of Agaie who lauded the lawmaker's developmetal zeal.

Garkuwa specifically commended the senator for siting one of his three ICT centres in the town, saying it would key the youngsters into the new world order which is driven by ICT.
The senator's obvious mindset for development would surely pave ways for his re-election, the traditional leader noted.

From the palace, the procession moved to the local government's APC  secretariat. The high-achieving legislator presented his scorecard. The officials of the party confirmed his leaps in scholarship, empowerment, potable water, etc. and also listed their needs, moving forward.

Then the procession moved to Jipo community, another zone in the LGA, for another round of meeting. Turn after turn, youths of the zone showered praises on the senator even as they urged him to create a programme that would boost mechanised farming in the zone and the entirety of Niger South.

In his address, Agaie's APC chairman advised the youth always  eschew political violence. The chairman added that they should genuinely support the senator's re-election for the challenges in which they are mired to be addressed.

The Agaie outing ended at Kintako zone, specifically in Loguma community. The pump and pageantry with which the lawmaker was welcomed into the community by its people was reminiscent of an Olympic gold medallist, entering his nation with his gold.

Right from the outskirt, for the teeming crowd,  the lawmaker  had to come out of his car to trek the remaining distance into the community amidst drummers and singers displaying their skills.

His first point of call in the community was the palace of Dagacin Loguma, Alhaji Ibrahim Loguma who, in his address, pledged the votes of the people of his domain to the senator,  in view of his unflinching zeal to see that everywhere  In Niger South is developed.

The traditional leader pleaded with the senator to site a healthcare centre in the community, saying his people travel far before accessing healthcare.  The Dagaci also pleaded for the provision of potable water in his domain and the establishment of a secondary school.

Responding, the lawmaker assured the traditional leader that the construction of a befitting healthcare centre would begin in Loguma soon as he had ensured its inclusion in the 2018 budget.

Potable water, the lawmaker said, would be provided in Loguma in a matter of months.

Then his meeting with APC members of Kintako zone. Darkness had set in, yet the ovation did not thin out. Turn-by-turn Senator Wadada was religiously assured of another mandate.
