CLARIFICATION AND BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF CPS MATTERS IN NIGER STATE

FOR THE SAKE OF CLARIFICATION AND BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF CPS MATTERS IN NIGER STATE, PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT ISSUES BELOW:
(1). Govt is not deducting 10.5% from civil servants but that is the contribution of the state Govt as contained in PRA Law2017 as amended.
(2). Only 7.5% will be deducted as the civil servant/employee contribution.
(3). Again additional 5% will be contributed as Redemption Bond by the State Government, being funds to take care of the Accrued Rights of the retiring civil servants.
(4). Government is also critically looking at insuring all employees under CPS via the Group Life Insurance Scheme. This is to take care of any loss of life of any employee while in active service. (5). So it is very important to inform and enlighten the civil servants who currently fall under the CPS that a critical look at the contributions or deductions only one affects the civil servants under the CPS, all other contributions are solely to be made by government as enshrined in the CPS PR Law2017.
(6). Any misinformation dished out by people for self interest Will not help at retirement.
(7). The current administration of His Excellency Alhaji (Dr) Abubakar Sani Bello can never ever return to the old days of not caring for its employees and the senior citizens who have contributed greatly to the growth and development of our dear state.
(8). His Excellency will God's Willing continue to fulfil his campaign promises from 2015 through to 2023. May Allah continue to guide us to do the right for our people.

All civil servants that fall under the Defined Benefit Scheme or the old pension scheme, no deductions will be made from their monthly salaries, BUT, all civil servants whose date of first appointments (DOAP is from 1993), 7.5% deductions as their CPS contribution will carried out and Govt Will also contribute 10.5% as Employer contribution, in compliance to the PRlaw 2017,as amended). Furthermore, government is not going to fold its arms until the issue of N5.778 bn is tackled to its logical end.
