NIGER STATE SSA FORUM ELECTS NEW EXCO - AHMED KATUKA emerged as new Chairman.

The Forum of the Senior Special Assistants to the Governor of Niger state has elected the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties Ahmed Katuka as the new Chairman of the forum.

The election which took place yesterday during an emergency meeting of the forum came out with a unanimous decision of electing new officials namely Comrade Zubairu Bala Kuta Vice Chairman,  Abubakar Garafini Secretary, Debbie Amachi  Treasurer, Hassan Zabura PRO, Safiya Nasidi Welfare Officer, Mauwiya Yusuf Muye Organising Secretary, Yazid Mohammed Aliyu Assistant Secretary and Anas Aliyu as Assistant PRO. The forum also constituted an  advisory board for effective discharge of its duties.

The forum noted that the former executive led by Hon Abdullahi D Aliyu had stayed in office for twenty one years; since during the administration of late Governor Abdulkadir Abdullahi Kure, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu and all through the five years of the present administration adding that it is only natural and democratic to effect change in the forum to bring about new ideas, unity of purpose and  peaceful coexistence in the forum. It  added that it is not democratic for leaders to perpetuate themselves in power for twenty one years without letting other members that were appointed by the present administration to bring in  their wealth of experience for the progress of the forum.

In his acceptance speech after after the election, Ahmed Katuka called assured the members of the forum of his commitment to carry all members along while urging them to shun anything that could tarnish the good name of the forum and by extension the government of Niger state.

In his first outing as the new Chairman of the forum, Ahmed Katuka has promptly led his executive on behalf of their entire members to Maitumbi Primary School in Minna to distribute relief items to the internally displaced persons whose village (around Maitumbi area)  was attacked by Bandits in the early hours of today. The relief materials distributed include cooked food, hand sanitisers, facemasks, mats among others
