Primary school is the foundation of education, and getting it right is a topmost priority for the administration of Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago.
The present management of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, led by Dr. Ibrahim A. Liman, is one of the best constituted by the state government.
Dr. Liman, an administrator per excellence, has transformed the board and restored it to functionality.
Since the arrival of Dr. Liman, hitherto abandoned projects have been resurrected.
For the mega schools initiated by Governor Bago, where work was previously progressing at a snail's pace, work has been accelerated since Dr. Liman's arrival. Some projects have been completed, while others are at an advanced stage.
Staff welfare has been boosted with many initiatives to raise the morale of teachers and maximize their productivity.
Also, new projects have been contracted out, with ongoing works across the state, including the building and renovation of classrooms.
Learning materials, including exercise books and others, have also been provided and are presently being distributed across primary schools in the state.
One of the boldest steps Governor Bago has taken is appointing Dr. Ibrahim A. Liman as Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board. He is not just changing the narrative; he is laying the best foundation for tomorrow's leaders.
