MOKWA COUNCIL BOSS INAUGURATES COMMITTEE TO REGULATW SALE OF GRAINS Committee

In compliance to the directive issued by His Excellency, the Farmer Governor, Hon. Umar Muhammad Bago, the Executive Chairman of Mokwa Local Government Hon. (Amb) Jibril Abdullahi Muregi, has today inaugurated a committee tasked with overseeing the regulation of grain sales within the locality.

The committee has been mandated with the following responsibilities:

1. Monitoring the pattern and volume of grain sales in local markets across the Local Government Area (LGA).

2. Identifying grain merchants who may be purchasing quantities exceeding immediate local consumption needs.

3. Identifying storage facilities, warehouses, and structures where grains may be stockpiled, potentially leading to price increases.

4. Monitoring the transportation and movement of large trucks loaded with grains departing from local markets.

5. Taking necessary action, including arrests and impoundment, against large trucks carrying grains out of local markets without authorization.

6. Gathering intelligence and promptly reporting any actions that may contribute to price hikes to the appropriate authorities, particularly law enforcement agencies.

The committee will be chaired by Comr. Suleiman Aliyu, with Hon. Mohammed Jiya Ndanawun serving as the Secretary. Additionally, the committee comprises representatives from various youth associations, religious bodies, traditional leaders, market leaders, and other stakeholders, including Kusopa Youth Association, Kede Youth Association, Mokwa Kinti Youth Association, FOMYA, CAN Mokwa, Ulamau, among others.
