GOVERNOR BAGO: MAKING GIANT STRIDES IN NIGER STATE

Developmental strides are only achieved when leaders possess foresight, vision, and focus. In the run-up to the 2023 election, Hon. Mohammed Umar Bago presented himself to the people of Niger State to be elected as governor. Since his emergence as governor, the fortune of Niger State has changed, and the state is now being mentioned daily across the country. What made this possible? Governor Bago has made a tremendous impact, with rural roads, hospitals, township roads, and many others receiving attention. Minna, the state capital, is beginning to resemble other developed capitals, with the construction of the first flyovers in Niger State, the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Teaching Hospital, new township roads, and the reconstruction and expansion of existing roads and state hospitals. Additionally, primary healthcare centers have been constructed. In a nutshell, most of the projects in Minna are also found in other urban and semi-urban areas in the state, such as Bida, Kontagora, Suleja, Mokwa, New Bussa, and many others. It is also worth noting that road construction is underway in all 25 local governments, and health centers are being constructed across the state. Agriculture has received a significant boost since Governor Bago's arrival, and it can be said that Niger State can feed the nation due to the priority given to agriculture. The Governor has acquired almost all known farm machinery to aid farm mechanization. Furthermore, the governor has established the Abdusalam Abubakar University of Agriculture and Climate Change at Mokwa. Nigerlites can expect more surprises, as the "farmer Governor" has just begun his developmental strides to place the state among the top states in the country.
