The Executive Chairman of Mokwa Local Government, Comrade Jibrin Abdullahi Muregi, has been one of the best performing Council Chairmen in Niger State.
Hon. Muregi has been steering the leadership of the local government with maximum sincerity of purpose, uncommon commitment and a clear vision for grassroots development.
The administration of Jibrin Muregi has ensured that long-standing clashes among communities are amicably resolved. He has also been on top of the security challenges facing the local government area by regularly interfacing with community leaders, youth groups, traditional rulers and security agencies.
This strategic engagement has greatly reduced insecurity, fostered peaceful coexistence and curbed communal clashes in Mokwa.
Hon. Muregi has also embarked on numerous people-oriented capital projects such as the construction of a new ultra-modern market in Mokwa town to boost economic activities, and the drilling of a motorized borehole at the Local Government Secretariat to address water scarcity.
Boats were also provided by the administration of Jibrin Muregi to ease transportation difficulties for the people of the riverine areas of the local government.
Culverts were also constructed in several communities to ease movement and control flooding, among other laudable projects.
Hon. Muregi has also ensured efficient, accountable and transparent revenue collection to boost the internally generated revenue of the local government for sustainable development.
Staff welfare has been prioritized to ensure effective productivity, job satisfaction and optimal service delivery among the staff.
Despite numerous challenges confronting local government administration, Hon. Muregi has remained focused, resilient and up to the task of ensuring a vibrant, secure and progressive Mokwa Local Government.
