HON. (AMB) JIBRIL ABDULLAHI MUREGI, EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF MOKWA LOCAL GOVERNMENT, CHARGES APPOINTEES TO BE DEDICATED AND PROACTIVE

Hon. (Amb) Jibril Abdullahi Muregi, the Executive Chairman of Mokwa Local Government, urged the newly appointed Supervisory Councillors to demonstrate dedication and commitment in their service to Mokwa Local Government. The Chairman commended their nomination based on their outstanding track records and contributions to the community.

Addressing the appointees in his Chambers, Hon. Muregi emphasized the significance of their appointments and encouraged them to view this opportunity as a means to serve their respective communities. He urged them to bring forth innovative ideas that would drive development in the local government.

Hon. Muh'd Jiya Ndanawun (Supervisory Councillor Special Duties), speaking on behalf of the appointees, expressed gratitude to the Chairman for the recognition and opportunity to serve. He assured Chairman Muregi of their readiness and commitment to work collaboratively as a team, with the aim of achieving the administration's objectives. The appointees pledged not to betray the trust placed in them and to uphold the confidence reposed in their abilities.

Furthermore, Hon. Muregi welcomed the newly posted Corp Medical Doctor and Nurse to the General Hospital in Mokwa. He expressed appreciation to the Corp Members for their willingness to provide healthcare services to the people of Mokwa. The Chairman assured them of his administration's support in facilitating their work and ensuring their welfare.

Furtherance to his engagement today, Hon. Muregi inaugurated two important committees, namely the Sport Development Committee and the Revenue Mobilization Committee. The committees have been given comprehensive terms of reference to guide their work. The objectives of the Sport Development Committee include reviving competitive sports in primary and secondary schools, particularly the annual "inter-house competitions," with the aim of identifying and nurturing sporting talents that will represent Mokwa LGA in the future.

Furthermore, the committee is tasked with organizing the upcoming "Chairman's Cup 2023," which aims to revive football competitions among teams from all 11 political wards. It is also mandated to conduct a historical review of sporting activities and competitions within Mokwa LGA, documenting its rich sports heritage.

The Revenue Mobilization Committee, on the other hand, has been assigned the responsibility of identifying untapped revenue sources within Mokwa LGA. Their tasks include assessing and reporting areas of revenue leakages and wastages, as well as implementing comprehensive strategies for revenue mobilization, collection, and proper payment into the Local Government accounts.

The Chairman's emphasis on dedication, proactive action, and community service reflects his vision for Mokwa Local Government's progress and development.
